One thing leads to another

I’m part of the Good News Club on Mondays at New Haven Elementary School.  It’s an after school Bible club.  The person who was supposed to do the Bible lesson tomorrow asked me to do it instead because she had an appointment.  I asked what the lesson was and it turns out it is 2 Kings 4 and the story about Elisha raising the Shunammite’s son.

In doing some research for it I stumbled upon The Elisha Project.  It’s a group in Providence, RI that feeds homeless people.  We have a son in college in Providence.  We’re going to see him this summer.  We’ll be checking out The Elisha Project and hoping they’re doing something while we’re in the area.

The only reason I found it was because of a doctor’s appointment.  Do I think it was by chance?  No.  I believe God has a way of helping us ‘discover’ what He would have us discover.  It amazes me how God can use one thing to accomplish a seemingly unrelated other thing.  And He does it all the time.  It’s a great illustration of Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

As a matter of fact, do you think maybe you were supposed to hear about and check out The Elisha Project?  After all, one thing does lead to another.
