When you take pictures inside your home do you think about how messy the house looks in the picture? I remember one picture I took as a kid. I wish I had it now. We had a little dog and a cat. They were both on their back legs, bodies in the air, batting at each other. I got the film developed (young people, just google film developing) and it was indeed an awesome picture. I wanted to show everyone. My dad wasn’t so proud of the picture. In the background was rusty stains running down the wall under the bathroom lav. As a kid I didn’t think anything of it. I was focused on the cat and dog.
This morning the sun was coming in our kitchen window just setting some daisies aglow. I took a picture of it. Beautiful huh? You can barely see Diane’s homework on the kitchen table. You can’t see the cooling racks on the table that Diane hadn’t put away yet from baking tons of awesome desserts for Wednesday night dinner last night.
We often let Satan’s distractions steal God’s joy from us. It’s the old, “Half full or half empty?”. Choose to not be distracted by the devil. God’s got something great for you. Focus on Him. Don’t be distracted.
Having our eyes fixed on Jesus, the guide and end of our faith, who went through the pains of the cross, not caring for the shame, because of the joy which was before him, and who has now taken his place at the right hand of God’s seat of power. ~ Hebrews 12:2
