Taking a survey to see what they like

In a conversation with a pastor friend yesterday he mentioned that his church was adding to the bulletin a “survey on the state of the church” finding out what the people like and don’t like about worship and other activities and aspects of the church.  I already know at the start of church the people there don’t like the big kids following the little kids up the aisle to help them light the candles.

Sadly, that’s where we’re at in the church in America: What do the people like?  I heard about one pastor that literally gave his sermon from a real army tank that had been placed in the front of the church.  I’ll bet they liked that!  I don’t ever recall Jesus asking people what they liked.  I don’t remember Paul writing to the Corinthians and asking them how they felt about anything.  As a matter of fact…
