It’s because of who God is

Someone asked me a question about a certain Scripture and it led me to Jude 24: “Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.”

There is a tension and an incomprehensible truth between His grace and our accountability.  His love for us is not based on our performance.  Yet because He loves us and we call ourselves His, we should earnestly seek Him.  But we even need His help to even seek Him!

Jude 24 is a reminder that it’s not only God who saves us, but it’s God who keeps us from falling away.  The same God who loved/loves us while we were yet sinners, is the same God who keeps “saving” us after we claim Him.  While we are prone to stumble and wander, He has both a mercy and a power that can even overcome our own natural tendencies and lack of faith.

His strength is made perfect in your weakness.  It’s just who He is.  He loves you and He will keep you and He actually sees you without fault, thanks to His own sacrifice!  It’s incomprehensible!  I invite you to listen to this Chris Rice song:
