Miracles never cease

Last summer when we were in Haiti there was a woman who needed blocks moved. She had been carrying them one by one on her head about a mile. We ended up moving the blocks for her.

Fast forward to this year and Matt from Hope Rising asked us if we would be willing to finish a house that people had been working on for some time and they had run out of money. They had blocked up about 5-6 feet, but had been stalled for some time. We built 3-4 foot metal sided walls to go on top of the block, then we put a roof on it.

Little did Matt know that this is the young woman we moved the block for last summer. Immediately, everyone on my team said this sounds like a sermon. How crazy is it that we got to finish a house that had not even been started last year when we were here? A house that we moved the block for. The young mother remembered my wife Diane and it brought tears to Diane’s eyes. I was taking pictures of the house and she insisted that I take her picture in front of her house. She is so proud. God is so good. It’s a reminder that when He begins a good work, He indeed finishes it. Sometimes we never see the finished product as He has other means to finish it. Other times He is gracious enough to let us finish what we started.

Pictured below is her current residence beside her new home.
