God’s Mysterious Ways

Diane and I are tenting at Fort DeSoto this week in St. Petersburg, FL–one of the nicest beach campgrounds in Florida.  We’ve left the tent and campground for the night, with a prediction of 1-2 inches of overnight rain, for the confines of a beautiful home near Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida.   We’re staying at the home of a friend we met on a Samaritan’s Purse trip to Haiti last summer.

When we spent the week together in Haiti, neither she nor we had any idea that 10 months later we would be spending the night at her home seeking refuge from a storm.  But God knew.  Nothing surprises Him and nothing catches Him off guard.  There are no accidents in His plans.  He is a Master planner, perfect in timing and execution.  He is always working.  Sometimes we just don’t realize it.

“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.” Ephesians 1:11-12 (MSG)
